Introduction
Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is a rare but potentially fatal condition that affects women in the last month of pregnancy or within five months after giving birth. It is characterized by the development of heart failure in previously healthy women, and the exact etiology and pathophysiology of PPCM remain unclear. Due to the high morbidity and mortality associated with PPCM, there is a need for effective pharmacological strategies for cardioprotection in this patient population.
This thesis aims to explore the different pharmacological strategies that have been studied for cardioprotection in PPCM. By reviewing the current literature and analyzing the available data, we hope to provide valuable insights into the potential treatment options for PPCM and contribute to the improvement of clinical outcomes for these patients.
