Introduction
Extreme weather events such as hurricanes, wildfires, and floods have become increasingly common in recent years due to climate change. These events not only have devastating impacts on infrastructure and the environment, but they also have significant effects on human health, particularly mental health. As a PhD student in public health, I am particularly interested in exploring the association between extreme weather events and mental health outcomes. This thesis aims to analyze the impact of extreme weather events on mental health and identify strategies to mitigate these effects.

Thesis Overview on Analyzing the Association between Extreme Weather Events and Mental Health Outcomes
Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and severe due to climate change, posing significant challenges to human health and well-being. The mental health impacts of these events are often overlooked, despite their profound and lasting effects on individuals and communities. This thesis aims to fill this gap in the literature by exploring the association between extreme weather events and mental health outcomes.
The introduction section provides an overview of the research topic, background information, the problem statement, objectives, limitations, scope, significance, and structure of the thesis. It also includes a definition of key terms for better understanding.
The literature review critically examines existing research on the impact of extreme weather events on mental health, identifying gaps in knowledge and future research directions. The research methodology chapter outlines the study design, sampling strategy, data collection methods, measures and instruments used, data analysis techniques, ethical considerations, study setting, participant recruitment, data management, and quality assurance procedures.
The discussion of findings chapter presents the descriptive statistics of study participants, the association between extreme weather events and mental health outcomes, mediating factors influencing this relationship, implications for public health practice, comparisons with previous research findings, strengths and limitations of the study, recommendations for future research, policy implications, and a conclusion.
The conclusion and summary chapter summarizes the key findings of the study, discusses their implications for public health policy and practice, highlights the contributions to the field of public health, acknowledges the limitations of the study, suggests future research directions, and concludes the thesis.
