Introduction
Smoking during pregnancy is a significant public health concern as it is associated with adverse outcomes for both the mother and the baby. Pregnant women who smoke are at a higher risk of complications such as low birth weight, preterm birth, stillbirth, and sudden infant death syndrome. Despite the known risks, many pregnant women struggle to quit smoking on their own. Nurse-led smoking cessation programs have been shown to be effective in helping individuals quit smoking, but there is limited research on the benefits of such programs specifically for pregnant women.
This thesis aims to explore the benefits of a nurse-led smoking cessation program for pregnant women. By evaluating the effectiveness of the program, this study seeks to provide evidence-based recommendations for the implementation of similar programs in healthcare settings.
